Tequila Tasting  

A Tequila Tasting is a process of evaluating and appreciating the sensory characteristics of Tequila. It is a guided experience where participants can discover and enjoy this iconic Mexican beverage’s different aromas, flavors, and nuances. The Tequila Tasting allows us to learn and explore its qualities using our senses: smell, sight, and taste. The color can tell us a lot about its age and aging process, each sip is a new flavor adventure, and the aromas are as varied as the flowers in a garden, so let your senses guide you and your imagination soar. 

About Tequila  

Tequila, known as Mexico’s golden liquid, is a distilled spirit with history, tradition, and a distinctive flavor that captivates palates worldwide. Produced from blue agave, Tequila offers a wide range of tastes, from the freshest and herbaceous to the most complex and aged. This spirited beverage symbolizes identity and pride for Mexico, transporting us to agave landscapes and inviting us to enjoy special moments among friends. Whether you taste it neat, in cocktails, or with delicious dishes, Tequila always leaves a lasting impression and a desire to continue exploring its fascinating flavor profiles. 

Tequila Production  

Over a period lasting between 7 and 9 years, Tequila is made from blue Weber agave, the raw material used for its production. Once the agave reaches maturity, the non-usable part of the leaves is separated, a process known as Jima. Hydrolysis is carried out in masonry ovens, raising its temperature to 100 – 110°C to ferment the agave properly. Subsequently, the fiber is separated, and fermentation begins. In this process, the yeast transforms the sugars, and then the Distillation continues. By this point, the musts contain a significant amount of alcohol (between 4% and 10%). This process takes place in instruments called Copper Alembic. During Distillation, the remaining water in the liquid evaporates, and at the end of this process, Tequila can be aged, obtaining better sensory qualities for the moment of tasting. The minimum aging time is two months and must be carried out in oak containers. For an Añejo Tequila, the minimum aging time must be one year, and for an Extra Añejo Tequila, a minimum of three years.
